The Japanese has a very unique culture everyone should experience. If you are planning to visit Japan, I would like to recommend their Teshima Ryokan. It is a traditional Japanese hotel which will make feel to become Japanese too. Ryokan is a house type but a hotel for foreigners who prefer to stay here than those western style hotels. The best thing here is that Ryokan is far more cheaper than western hotels. Forgetting your western style and trying to be a Japanese during your stay here will make your stay more pleasant. Who knows, you might be motivated to learn Japanese language during your stay.
The experience you will get while staying in a Ryokan is one great tourist escapade already. Ryokan means house for the tourist. In here, you will be wearing yukata - a dress like kimono and you are dressed like this while roaming around the hotel. Bathing is different too. There is that tub which is used for relaxing only. Usually the it is hot tub, not totally hot, but hot enough to relax the tired muscles. Before you go into the tub, you will be instructed to make a bath to clean your body. The tub is not for cleansing but is for soaking only. Your host will be disgusted if you’ll take a bat within that tab.
